This contemporary granny flat is a customised Elanora design, built in the Newcastle suburb of Gateshead. The popular two-bedroom layout is known for its open-plan living and flexible bathroom–laundry configuration, and this build is no exception. The owners chose to extend the bathroom and laundry for added functionality, resulting in a slightly more compact living area and a unique staggered front façade. Enhanced by the dual skillion roofline, this clever design achieves a highly practical layout while still fitting comfortably within the 60m² footprint.

The exterior is well designed with stand out features like the Woodland Grey dual skillion colorbond roof combining with the Newington XN5 entry door and staggered front wall to create a beautiful, contemporary front facade. The upgraded Newport cladding in Evening Haze with matt black aluminum windows and matching matt black sliding door and door handles add to the curb appeal.
On the inside the Marble Mist walls and Havana Oak laminate floors provide a clean backdrop for the cleverly designed interior areas. With raked ceilings helping the space feel larger, and a special consideration for the flow through to the covered porch, the inside feels very roomy and embraces indoor/outdoor living.
