Meet the Newcastle granny flat team – Annette Mudford
We recently introduced you to our Central Coast team, so now it’s time to give you a little more information about our Newcastle granny flat team. It is fitting that we start with Annette Mudford, our Senior Sales Consultant – as she’s been with us since the early days of Backyard Grannys!
At the beginning Annette was involved in all areas of the business (which has given her some great insights) and as the business grew she specialised in the design and approval department as a Project Manager and a Sales Consultant.
Having a dual role within the business provided Annette with great experience, which has resulted in a brilliant track record of happy clients! Annette has obtained a sound knowledge of all the rules and regulations specific to the approval of granny flats, giving her confidence to provide expert advice on the best way to build on the wide variety of sites which we encounter in the Newcastle area.
Annette now works full-time in sales and business development, with her knowledge, experience and understanding of granny flat approvals enabling her to provide clear and accurate information to clients about what they should expect throughout the whole process.
In 2015 Annette was a finalist in the Lake Macquarie Business Excellence Awards, recognising her for Excellence in Customer Service for an Individual. Annette really takes the time to listen to what each client is wanting to achieve and direct them in the most appropriate way. She takes into consideration their needs and what is achievable on their property. She is very friendly, approachable, knowledgeable and focuses on the individual needs of every client. When there are restrictions on site that do not fit a standard design she has the ability to be creative and have come up with several custom floor plans to suit that her clients have been very happy with.
We also recently launched our Backyard Grannys Showroom, a project Annette was very involved with. The Showroom caters for clients who are at the start of the granny flat journey, as well as those who are making their finishes selections.
Annette has had a varied career, providing her wide a wide range of skills that she uses in her roles at Backyard Grannys. Prior to joining the team, she was a project coordinator for a property group, focused on the design and approval process. But Annette actually started her career as a teacher, having studied for a Bachelor of Teaching.
Annette is a Mum to three children – who she is very proud of. She also enjoys sport and CrossFit – and any thrilling experiences!
