Meet the Newcastle granny flat team – Daniel Carman
Over the coming months, we will be introducing more of our team to you, to start with we want to introduce you to Daniel Carman, our Operations Manager of Backyard Grannys.
Daniel has a long history in construction with Mark Neumann and when he returned from travelling overseas in 2014 he started working as a Trades Assistant for Backyard Grannys. He soon progressed to being a Project Manager and due to the high demand for granny flats and the rapid growth of the company, he became the Operations Manager in 2016.
Daniel has been passionate about the construction industry since a young age and after gaining on site experience during his school years he went and studied a Bachelor of Construction Management at Newcastle University. Daniel is now studying a Masters of Business Administration to further his knowledge in business development.
Daniels role as Operations Manager encompasses managing the Sales, Design and Approvals team as well as the Building Coordinators and site teams. His role has also evolved to business development and working closely with the Directors, Mark & Alex, as Backyard Grannys continues to grow.
Daniel is a detailed thinker but also has the ability to see big picture perspectives and he uses this skill every day in his role to develop new processes and systems to continually improve the way we build our granny flats. He has extensive knowledge in construction and has the ability to solve any problem that may arise during a granny flat build.
Daniel is very easy to talk to and has a very relaxed nature about himself. He thoroughly enjoys coming to work every day and has a lot of fun.
