We custom designed this granny flat to suit the requirements of our client, all while meeting the State environmental planning policy (SEPP) legislative requirements. This included ensuring the floor area of the granny flat did not exceed the 60sqm permitted. We then added an attached garage to the granny flat to allow him additional car parking, something which is becoming more popular with our clients who are looking to use the finished granny flat for their own personal use.
Our client, who lives in Blacktown in Western Sydney, also had many other personal touches which he added to his granny flat. He specifically wanted the granny flat to be brick veneer construction with one bedroom in the granny flat, in order to allow for a second bathroom to be included in the design and a bigger living area than is typically achieved in a 2-bedroom granny flat. He also added some high quality finishing touches to the granny flat, including a stunning bamboo floor and stone benchtops in the kitchen.
