We recently completed a Maitland granny flat on a picturesque property in Louth Park, which is planned to be used as a short-term rental property.

During the planning stages the owners requested that the living area and tiled patio be north facing, in order to soak up the afternoon sun. The custom designed 2-bedroom granny flat fulfilled this requested and also included an open plan living/dining and kitchen and a combined bathroom/laundry.

The living areas have been fitted out with bamboo flooring, whilst the bedrooms have a lush dark grey carpet and the bathroom has been tiled.

As the property is in the Hunter Valley, a large air-conditioner was a must, as well as ceiling fans throughout.

Once we completed the granny flat the owners got stuck into the landscaping and furnishing of the property – from looking at the photos I’m sure you’ll agree that it looks great!

As well as additional rental income, the owners are planning to use the granny flat as additional space for when friends and family visit – so it will certainly get a work out!
